I just can't look at those pictures of the scary baby anymore. So for the sake of something new to look at..I saw this special last week on living to be 150. It blew my mind. Scientists have found a way using embryonic stem cells (which is a whole other ethical issue in itself) to grow new parts of the body..heart valves, bladders, even a beating heart. Check out this URL. Its a clip from the show, but I can't get it to link right to the video...sorry

It kinda freaked me out. Maybe I don't want to live to be that old. They said in the show that somebody born today could possibly live to be hundreds of years old because once one of their organs gives out, they can just grow a new one and implant it. Given the right situation, I think this could be amazing for all the people that NEED transplants and are waiting and dying on those lists. But I just don't think this is how it's supposed to be. There was even a family of 5 that was interviewed that had reserved spots in this lab to be frozen after they died for who knows how long, and then once science was able, bring these people back to life so they can continue to be a family. So..anyways. I just found this super interesting. It was will be interesting to see what comes of all this research.
On a lighter note, just look at my cute baby (that I guess could potentially live to be 200 yrs old) She's a little sweetheart.

I miss that cute Girl! 150 years sounds too old for me!
OMG I already have longevity in my family and I don't count it as a blessing!! Madi is a cute one! 1 1/2 weeks till I see her again!
Shan! I've been a slacker blogger lately, I just had to take a while to catch up. Madi is so adorable! Seriously, you guys are going to have to beat the boys away with a stick starting in kindergarten!
I don't know how I feel about the extending life through growing new organs thing, Bren's actually reading some of his ethics homework outloud to me right now...very interesting.
Anyway, I loved the tag--shout out to the Tolman Tigers, who knew that place held so much magic for you guys?!
Hope you're doing well. Are you going to Lisa's wedding? I'm flying out just for the weekend. Sorry about this super long comment, I should have just emailed. Hopefully I'll get to see you soon!
